Oleksandr «Amerykanets»* Zlochevskyi
*Callsign means «The American» in English
Oleksandr Viktorovych Zlochevskyi was born on June 10, 1997, in the village of Ahronomichne, near Vinnytsia. He graduated from Vinnytsia Lyceum №7, named after Oleksandr Sukhomovskyi, in 2015. During his school years, Oleksandr was a frequent performer on stage, often landing leading roles. He possessed a deep understanding of international politics, showing a particular interest during the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election, which ultimately influenced his choice of academic path.
In 2015, he enrolled at the Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University (displaced to Vinnytsia) to study «International Relations, Public Communications, and Regional Studies».
Sashko was deeply passionate about his field. He was concerned with Ukraine’s place and prospects on the global geopolitical stage, putting his skills into practice by actively participating in student self-government. He presented his research at conferences on international relations, NATO’s experience in fostering reconciliation through information and dialogue, the crisis in the current security system, the new international order, and other security forums. He traveled extensively across Ukraine to disseminate knowledge, participating in the NATO Academy and the Hennadiy Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among students and faculty, he was known as a sociable, active, and well-read person, entirely dedicated to his craft.
In 2019, Oleksandr joined the Leadership Program in Vinnytsia. From that point on, he became a member of our organization, found many friends, and eventually led the Vinnytsia branch. As he once wrote:
«Having brought order to my mind, I am ready to practically apply my knowledge and skills for the benefit of myself and others».
They say this callsign became permanent after a foreign delegation visited his unit; Oleksandr was the only one capable of communicating with them fluently and professionally.
Oleksandr fell in battle on September 7, 2022, at the age of 25, while performing a combat mission in the village of Maksymivka, Kharkiv region. He was laid to rest in his native Ahronomichne. Posthumously, he was awarded the Order «For Courage», 3rd Class. Friends remember Sashko as a skilled debater on complex topics and as a Ukrainian devoted to his values and his state.

Thanks to an academic exchange program with the University of Warsaw, he completed a semester of study at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies of the Institute of International Relations.
He was a participant in the School of Leadership and Democracy for students of displaced universities (Kyiv, September 23–27, 2017).
He took part in the All-Ukrainian Student Competition on International Relations organized by the Hennadii Udovenko Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine. He became a participant in the NATO Autumn Academy «Building Trust in Ukraine: NATO’s Experience in Reconciliation Through Information and Dialogue» (Vinnytsia, December 8–9, 2016). He also participated in a series of International Security Forums (Vinnytsia, November 2–4, 2016; Lviv, November 30 – December 1, 2017; Kyiv, December 10–11, 2018). Before defending his Master’s thesis, he took part in the International Scientific Conference “The Crisis of the Modern Security System: In Search of a New International Order” (Lviv, September 25, 2020).
Oleksandr received his «Red Pill» from such figures and organizations as Dennis Prager (PragerU), Dave Rubin (The Rubin Report), Ben Shapiro (The Daily Wire), Christina Hoff Sommers, Niall Ferguson, Jordan B. Peterson, Stephen Bannon, Carl Benjamin (Sargon of Akkad), Steven Crowder (Louder with Crowder), Lauren Southern, Cassie Jaye (The Red Pill), Paul Elam (MRA, A Voice For Men), Yaron Brook (Ayn Rand Institute), Milton Friedman, Dr. Sebastian Gorka, and others. Over the years, his awareness and knowledge only grew, as did the number of his online subscriptions and the events he attended. Therefore, having brought order to his thoughts, he was ready for the practical application of his knowledge and skills for the benefit of himself and others.
Mykhailo Lavrovskyi, co-founder of the USF, was personally acquainted with Zlochevskyi:
«The loss of Sasha is a loss not only for his family but also for our community. It is a loss for all of Ukraine, because people like him — principled, intelligent, and patriotic — were supposed to become the future of our country. But, unfortunately, today such people give their lives to preserve our Freedom. I am proud of him and consider myself eternally indebted to Sasha and those like him.
I want to live this life to repay the debt and honor his sacrifice, and I doubt I will ever fully repay it. Today we are losing the best — we are living through a new ‘Executed Renaissance’.
He knew where he was going, he knew what he was fighting for, and he knew what he was giving his life for. Sasha may have walked a short path in this world, but it was certainly not in vain. As difficult as it may be, we must not mourn his death but celebrate the life he lived.
I am grateful to him and will try to live this life so that I will not be ashamed to shake his hand, and the hands of others, when my time comes
