Sofiia is originally from the city of Sumy. She studied physics and mathematics in class at School No. 9 and received an art education at the Lysenko School of Arts. Later, she discovered herself in graphic design, which eventually became her profession.
In 2024, she entered the Institute of Business, Economics, and Management at Sumy State University, majoring in marketing. From the very beginning, she actively joined student life: organizing events, managing the department’s social media, and in 2025 became the media coordinator of the Student Rectorate.
A special place in her life belongs to contemporary dance, which — just like design — helps her process emotions and be true to herself. She also performs in a youth theater and is deeply in love with the stage. She draws inspiration from music, literature, sports, the English language, and photography. Her motto is: “You can’t add days to your life, but you can add life to your days.”
Despite a busy schedule, Sofiia is always open to heartfelt conversations, support, and warm moments. She’s someone with whom you feel safe even in silence. As she often reminds herself and others: “You always have yourself. No matter what happens.”
At the end of 2024, Sofiia discovered Ukrainian Students for Freedom — and immediately saw something deeply personal in the community. In January 2025, she joined as a supporter and, after completing the Leadership Program in August, became an activist. For her, USF is not just an organization — it’s a space of meaning, action, and freedom. Here, she finds like-minded people, depth, and the freedom to be herself.
«Freedom, to me, is the right to be myself and to act without coercion, while understanding the responsibility that comes with my choices. It’s not chaos, but an inner maturity that allows me to build a life on my own terms.
At the same time, I believe that freedom is the foundation of a strong state. Without it, sustainable development is impossible. Only a free individual can create, think critically, respect others, and change the country. I’m convinced: those who choose freedom today are already shaping the future. That’s why I’m part of USF».
