Ivanna was born and raised in Kyiv. In recent years at the lyceum she’s become more involved in political processes in Ukraine through public activism. Not long after, with a background in social activities (school self-government, organization of models UN, debates etc.) and a keen interest in national consciousness phenomenon and post-colonial studies, she won a 100% tuition scholarship and enrolled in political science at UCU in 2022. She graduated from both general and music school with high remarks. Later in the university Ivanna became a member of experimental noise band “Korysni kopalyny”. While continuing organizing events like MUN or crisis games with her school friends on behalf of the NGO “Prosvita”, Ivanna got into the leadership program and became an activist of the USF in 2023. The issue of freedom is one of the key ones in her scientific interest in forming independent freedom of the Ukrainian state and nation.
‘Freedom is an integral part of the human personality, but this does not prevent widespread neglect of these values. We still live in a society with the trauma of totalitarianism and sometimes we cannot imagine that we have the right just to be ourselves and act freely. Therefore, for me, USF is about our recovery. When a young active segment of society will focus its efforts on common (and therefore personal for everyone) well-being instead of establishing norms, pressures and restrictions, it may mark a new beginning for the state, only this time the initiative to build society will come from below.’
