Anna is a USF activist. She grew up in Izyum, the city in the Kharkiv region. While studying at school, she got interested in public speaking and social activism, became a member of the youth council of her hometown. Anna entered the Karazin University in Kharkiv to study physics and technologies in 2021. But then she realized that this field did not suit her. After dropping out of University, she had two gap years, one of which she spent in Finland as a volunteer at a youth center. During the break in studies, Anna dived deeper into social activism, became part of the ‘Young European Ambassadors’ initiative in Ukraine, and volunteered in the ‘Ukrainian Volunteer Service’ projects. After all Anna decided to get an education combining her main interests: history, politics, and activism. So, in 2023, she entered the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy to study Political Science.
‘Freedom is one of the most important values for me. When I saw the Revolution of Dignity as a child I realized how precious national freedom is. And what stuck in my memory the most is that we must fight for it. After joining USF, I realized that there are many young people in Ukraine who value freedom as much as I do, and strive to protect it. Our organization unites active Ukrainians men with a very important goal – to ensure freedom in Ukraine. So I want to help build a free society in my country.’
