Freedom is the greatest achievement a person can have and the most precious treasure often taken for granted. Only a free person can change their life, their community, and their country. History shows that where freedom prevails, nations find the strength to rebuild even after the greatest hardships. Freedom is the key to prosperity and justice, inspiring us to create a future where everyone has the right to be themselves, and USS serves as a vivid example of this.
Lina was nobly born to the sounds of fireworks…. fireworks of New Year’s corporate parties. She graduated from a Sumy gymnasium, which no longer exists((( Since childhood, she really wanted to wrestle, but when they saw her health certificate, they advised her to play only one sport: chess. So if someone wants to hurt her in the evening and Lina reaches for pepper spray, she will remember her sports experience, hide the spray, and sit down to play Chapaev. As a 200-point student, I was thinking about what to do with myself, not just to get into something, but to be useful even now. My physical strength at the “go play chess” level immediately rejected active ways to be involved in helping the homeland, so I ended up in cybersecurity. However, life is stormy and hectic, so later the documents were successfully taken away, the search continued, which is why you see Lina doing something often for military fundraisers and always raising money for good education That’s enough for you)
Last winter, a young woman who had just turned 18 in less than a week ran away from home on Ukrainian railroad trains in an attempt to win the right to be who, where, and how she wanted to live. It so happened that she is now filling out her biography, so I can assure you that Freedom is not an abstract concept for me, but rather a big vision with goals that change from time to time, evolving and proving its timeless relevance.
It is not a conditional line, crossing which you find yourself at a clearly defined finish line and become the final winner. Everything changes over time, including the needs and conditions in which society lives, which is why it is important not only to gain freedom but also to be ready to defend it every moment

USF has three priorities in its activities – to unite, educate and mobilize. At the center of these priorities are people. And this is exactly what I like about the organization, because people are the basis of anything and everywhere, and therefore USF is on the right track. And I want to be a part of it! The path to freedom is already being paved by these people, who are already taking my hand with a smile so that I can reach it together with them – Freedom.

«USF is about values. I believe that freedom is one of the most important values for the Ukrainian people, we have paid a great price for it. USF gives me hope that sooner or later we will be able to overcome all difficulties and reach the European standard of living and free ourselves from the care of “big brother”. The values of freedom are not empty words for us. Even the word “Will” is encrypted in our coat of arms, so this is enough for me to be convinced that the Ukrainian people will never betray the values of freedom.»
Sofia is a 2nd year student at Sumy State University majoring in psychology. For the first time she got acquainted with libertarian ideas in her first year of study, at a lecture organized by the Students for freedom. For her, it was a motivation to move forward only, prioritizing further life. Sofia participated in the Fifth All-Ukrainian Model Organization of the United Nations in Lviv from Platform of New Diplomacy and in the First Student Model of Congress from the Students for freedom held in Kyiv. Considering the world’s problems that affect the development of both our country and all countries of the world helps to develop critical thinking and diplomatic skills. The advocacy of human rights and freedoms and the drafting of bills by students emphasized that nothing is impossible and that Ukraine’s future is only in the hands of young people. Anna was born and raised in a small town in the Sumy region, where she finished school. She always studied well, since even then she realized that knowledge is the key to success. After that, she began to be actively engaged in public life, hold various events for students and spread ideas of freedom among young people.
Yes, freedom is a broad concept, but above all, it means responsibility. If a person fights for freedom without the feeling of responsibility, he/she turns into an animal controlled by instincts. If we talk about freedom in Ukraine, then we cannot consider ourselves as free as everyone says: no one counts on the opinion of the people. It even seems that the state’s citizens and the Ukrainian government are two separate worlds, although this government consists of the same people. So I want to say that freedom is important in our lives, but there is also a responsibility. USF members support the ideas of freedom.
