program

The leadership program is the main educational project of our organization, the purpose of which is to spread the ideas of freedom among Ukrainian youth. Student leaders are the face of our organization in their universities, cities, and in Ukraine as a whole.

Participation in the program provides a unique opportunity to promote the ideas of freedom and develop their leadership skills together with like-minded people. The program consists of educational and practical parts, in which leaders will be able to apply the acquired skills, implementing projects in their regions.

As a participant in our program, we see a young person who wants to build the student movement in Ukraine, promote the ideas of freedom, and work for our country’s free future.

Desirable requirements for candidates

The Leadership Program is designed for young people from all over the country, so the selection is quite competitive. All participants of the Leadership Program should either be entrants or current students of universities of Ukraine.

Students who wish to join the Leadership Program must devote 5-10 hours per week to the program during one academic year. Successful candidates are excellent communicators with the ability to find a personal creative approach.

  • At least 1 year of leadership experience in a student group;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • The desire to develop personal skills;
  • Ability to express thoughts clearly and convincingly;
  • Strong motivation to complete projects;
  • Passion for the ideas of freedom and organization of events that will make Ukraine a better place to live;
  • Interest in hanging out with other students until dawn and talking about freedom.
How to become a leader?

  • Pass the national selection
    It includes test assignments and interviews with the organization’s management and the head of the regional unit.
  • Successfully complete the online training
    The training includes the best materials of modern and past thinkers of classical liberalism, recordings of interesting speeches, and other educational materials. Through the training, you will learn the basics of the ideology of freedom and gain useful skills that you can use in your future work as student leaders.
  • Participate in a three-day regional camp
    The regional camp is the final selection stage of the Leadership Program. During the regional camp, candidates will attend lectures and seminars from national and foreign speakers.

Since the beginning of the academic year, leaders are working to spread the ideas of freedom. Implementing projects in their cities and organizing events in different regions of Ukraine, participants consolidate the acquired knowledge and skills in practice. Leaders have access to a nationwide network of Ukrainian Students for Freedom, which includes both material resources and an extensive network of activists who spread freedom worldwide.

How much does it cost to participate in the program?

Participation in the Leadership Program is free. All expenses, including handouts, travel, and accommodation during regional camps, are covered by our organization. We also give our leaders the opportunity to receive grants of up to $ 1,000 for their own projects in the regions.

Who can become a leader?

High school graduates and university students can become leaders of USF. However, sometimes we make exceptions. For us, the most important thing is your desire to learn, change Ukraine for the better and defend the ideas of freedom.

When and where regional camps are held?

Usually, regional camps are held based on 4 cross-regions: Kyiv (leaders from Kyiv and Kyiv region), Western region (leaders from the following regions: Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky, Lviv, Chernivtsi, Zakarpattia, Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne), Eastern region (leaders from the following regions: Kharkiv, Donetsk, Luhansk, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Chernihiv) Southern region (leaders from the following regions: Crimea, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Zaporizhia, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy).

How long does the program last?

The program is designed for a year, but after that, we encourage leaders to join our large team of «Ukrainian Students for Freedom».
