“We Demand Urgent Consideration of the Medical Cannabis Legalization Bill!”

It was with such a message that our organization came out on Saturday, October 26, on the Cannabis #March of Freedom. Together with representatives of other NGOs, we explained why the government should legalize medical cannabis.

In Ukraine, there are more than 1 million people with cancer. Every tenth pensioner has Alzheimer’s disease, more than 50 thousand patients with epilepsy.

These are 3 of 15 illness which medical cannabis treatments. More than a million Ukrainians lose their chance of recovery every year as well as the country loses millions of profits. In Ukraine, the medical use of morphine is allowed, but cannabis even is not permitted to be studied.

We emphasize that banning medical cannabis violates the constitutional rights of about 2 million Ukrainians. These are patients whose treatment modalities in Ukraine do not help or do not have sufficient effect when compared to those practiced in other countries where medical cannabis turnover is regulated.

Medical cannabis legalized in Canada, the USA, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Croatia, Finland, France, Germany, etc.

About half a thousand people joined the Cannabis #March of Freedom! We hope that the Verkhovna Rada will consider the bill on the legalization of medical cannabis as soon as possible sick people can’t wait!
